  • Yes, you can bring your own rifle, but you must apply for a visitor’s firearms license at least 4 months before your arrival. Your rifle must comply with New Zealand’s firearm laws, meaning it should be bolt-action, not semi-automatic, and have a magazine capacity of under 5 rounds.

    For bow hunters, no paperwork is needed, and you can bring your bow as carry-on luggage.

  • If you’d prefer not to travel with your own rifle, we offer trusted rifles and ammunition free of charge.

  • For deer, we aim to get within 50-250 yards. When hunting Bull Tahr or Chamois, shots can range from 400-500 yards.

  • We partner with a Southern Alps taxidermy in Pleasant Point. Your guides will take care of all your head skinning and boiling processes as well as salting your skins.

    The trophy must be boiled, cleaned, and prepped before shipping. Our taxidermist handles all paperwork for U.S. imports, and for other countries, we’ll provide an estimated cost after consulting with them. Please note pricing is subject to change at any time. Your guide will give you an accurate quote at time of booking.

  • Yes, you can take up to 50 pounds of meat per person as checked luggage on your flight. We can butcher, pack, and provide cooler boxes with ice packs, along with an official letter of approval. This service is available for an additional $200.
